The USA Design Team
The XVIVE Audio USA Design Team is made up of musicians and engineers who have decades of professional experience.
Howard Davis works as our Chief Designer. He is well known for his many pedal designs for Electro Harmonix (1976 to 1981) and later did design work for Pigtronix (including the Mother Ship analog guitar Synthesizer). He has done independent design work for several artists and we are very happy to have him aboard.
Darius Mostowfi has been a DSP and analog expert.......
MUDHONEY DISTORTION - THE ORIGINAL COLLECTION
The Mudhoney distortion was our first shot at making a great, all-round distortion box. That´s how most owners have described it - it just plain works for a lot of different music styles and they haven´t found a similar sound in many other pedals. In fact, there´s a story about a player that bought and sold six Mudhoney´s, before realizing that the pedals he replaced it with weren´t doing it for him, so he got the seventh one – and kept it.
The Tripp is the most versatile pick that Gravity sells. Using the tri-tip model platform, we’ve put a different tip on each end from three of our popular picks. The Tripp has one tip that’s sharp like the Sunrise, giving you the ability to pick or shred, a second tip that’s rounded like the Axis, made for some smooth strumming, and a third tip that is semi-pointed/semi-rounded like the Striker, giving you the versatility to alternate from picking to strumming to any style you play. With this pick you have everything. ‘The British Sound’
Formidable weaponry
It was the Who’s John Entwistle who first traded in his Marshall stacks in favour of Sound City at the beginning of 1967, and Pete Townshend followed later that year.
At this time, Dave Reeves was providing Sound City with the amplifiers, OEM. They were the first in a lineage of amplifiers that would quickly evolve into Hiwatt.
Also, around this time, Jimi Hendrix and his manager Chas Chandler approached Townshend, asking for his opinion on amplification. He told them that he had stopped using Marshall, as he thought Sound City were better. The Jimi Hendrix Experience subsequentlystarted using Sound City rigs, but set them up together with their Marshall stacks instead of replacing them.
In late 1968, The Who approached Dallas Arbiter, the makers of Sound City, asking if their equipment could be modified slightly. This request was denied, but independent amp designer and manufacturer Dave Reeves agreed, and created customised L100 amplifier
