A little over 40 years ago, largely because we could not afford to buy a high quality electric guitar, and partly because we enjoyed a challenge, my Dad and I decided to make an electric guitar. I designed an instrument from scratch, with the intention that it would have a capability beyond anything that was out there, more tunable, with a greater range of pitches and sounds, with a better tremolo, and with a capability of feeding back through the air in a "good" way - i.e. in a self-sustaining mode.

The Mudhoney distortion was our first shot at making a great, all-round distortion box. That´s how most owners have described it - it just plain works for a lot of different music styles and they haven´t found a similar sound in many other pedals. It’s not easy to reinvent forgotten technology, but after many years of research, we found the lost secrets and brought back the authentic echoes from the 1950s. It’s known for its use in David Gilmour and Hank Marvin’s guitar tones, John Bonham even used it on drums!
