S-500 er en S model, Ganske som Legacy, men her får du Leos MFD Single Coil pickups, som har justerbare poler, og som var de originale G&L designs Leo havde lagt så mange kræfter i, for at videreudvikle den klassiske Single Coil pickup. Også her får du selvfølgelig G&Ls tremolosystem, PTB kontroller, og desuden mulighed for, via Push/Pull funktion, at sammenkoble alle 3 pickups, eller kombinere Neck/Bridge. S-500 er virkelig en Ta Selv buffet af lyde og kombinationer, for de der elsker lyden af Single Coils.
G&L er Leo Fenders sidste livsværk, skabt på erfaringerne fra Fender og Music Man, og designet i Leo’s workshop, på Fender Avenue 2548, i Fullerton, CA. Stedet hvor de første Music Mans blev bygget, og siden alle G&L USA modeller. Den lille fabrik kører stadig på højtryk, og Leo’s værksted står, som da han forlod det. Tradition og håndværk forenet. Howard Davis works as our Chief Designer. He is well known for his many pedal designs for Electro Harmonix (1976 to 1981) and later did design work for Pigtronix (including the Mother Ship analog guitar Synthesizer). I am a big fan of Indie Guitars. I own the British Indie 6 string version of the Rickenbacker 330 (I used to own the real thing back in the 60s) and it is just as good as the original. I wish I had purchased both the 12 string version, and the ITK bass guitar as well.
I also live in Cornwall Ontario Canada, where the new owner of Indie Guitars has his business, and although they have a limited selection of models, they still make beautiful guitars.
